About Us

At Teltra, we don't just talk about menopause—we’ve lived it.

We are four best friends driven by our shared experiences and frustrations navigating the often-overlooked journey of menopause. Each of us has encountered the same challenges: a severe lack of competent care, an absence of open conversations, and feeling dismissed by healthcare professionals who told us our symptoms were just a normal part of life we had to “deal with.”

Silent Struggle

As we sought answers, and after years of visiting numerous doctors and enduring a mountain of tests—including CAT scans, MRIs, and blood work—we finally discovered that we were experiencing menopause. It was a long and costly journey of personal research and exploration that led us to this important realization: effective solutions existed, yet they were often out of reach. A staggering 81% of OBGYNs feel uncomfortable discussing menopause with their patients, leaving over 73% of women seeking care without the support they deserve.

Career or Care

One founder faced this challenge while thriving in her career at a Fortune 500 company. Despite her skills and accomplishments, she felt unable to discuss her symptoms with colleagues or her employer for fear of being judged as too old or frail to perform her job effectively. With no workplace accommodations available for menopause, she ultimately made the difficult decision to leave—similar to the path taken by 20% of menopausal women.

Informed & Empowered

Another founder had the fortunate experience when her orthopedic surgeon referred her to a hormone specialist who prescribed hormone replacement therapy (HRT) during her mid-40s to prevent osteoporosis. This proactive approach allowed her to navigate menopause with minimal symptoms, highlighting the importance of informed care.

Breaking the Stigma

We recognized that sexism and ageism contribute significantly to the silence and stigma surrounding menopause, and we’re here to change that narrative! Our mission is to create a healthcare platform that truly understands women and prioritizes their emotional and physical challenges, ensuring that we no longer face dismissal and apathy from healthcare providers.

Additionally, we aim to spark conversations about menopause in every aspect of life—at work, at home, and beyond!
